I Killed God

Moving On Up

About two weeks ago I was made the new shift leader at my store. What does this entail? A fancy title and the workload of an assistant manager, except for the pay. So while my hours are more guaranteed to be roughly 30 every week, I don't get the $0.50/hr increase in pay. And my first opening is this coming Sunday. Nice that it's an easy day for the week. Too bad I have to suddenly remember how to do everything all at once. (I know I won't be able to beforehand)

Last week the car I was using (my grandmother's) crapped out on me. It has served our family well over the past few years, but it had been totaled once already. The thing was running hot for quite a while and it was leaking antifreeze. With the knowledge that it was dead, I hit the car lots with Amber in tow. After I was walked off the KIA lot simply because I was 21, I went to Automax. They listened and helped me there, far more personal in their ways than other dealers I've heard of. They did all they could before letting me know I needed a cosigner

I talked to my grandfather on the subject and he agreed to help me, commending me for trying on my own like an adult. We go to Toyota two days later and the guy shows us three cars. The last one I fell in love with (a Grand Prix). It may have cost more than the one I was being forced into at Automax, but the monthly payments are far better than I could hope for. After a day of driving it around (they let me take it off the lot), I knew it was the best I could get. We went back later that night and signed for it

I now have the newest car in my family down here, and after the warranties Grandad said I had to have, I pay $281 a month. It has everything I wanted in a car and more. I couldn't be happier. And I can refinance in about nine months if I make all my payments on time so I can get Grandad off the contract. He'd be happy with that and I really want it to be just my car

Aside from cursing customers who come in at steady intervals to prevent me from getting work done, and trying to enjoy my days off (usually spent reading so Amber can have the next Sookie Stackhouse and stop her from bugging me about them), I haven't done much. She let me borrow Mario Sunshine so I've been playing that as well. Had to see Bowser Jr. again and one-up him in combat (even though he's the best by far and I trump all with him in Mario Kart)

Ciao

You can't always get what you want
but if you try sometimes
you might find
you get what you need.

I'll stay my cliff where I've turned to stone
Next to the grave that stands for us
I'll call your name til I'll not but drone
With these tears as my only tincture

Si, though I'm not sure what part of the fish cut me last time I went fishing.

They are vicious. Though the act of fishing itself has it's level of danger. I nearly hooked Grandad's groin while casting once
